The Hound sees that the temporary leader of the Labour Party, Andrew Little, is not averse to employing Trump-like tactics, i.e. making up political claims using ‘alternative facts’.
According to Angry Andy, he has “met farmers around the country who say rural New Zealand has to do a better job of hiring young Kiwis”. Little made this claim after disagreeing with PM Bill English’s view that many employers had told him they can’t hire young Kiwi staff because many can’t pass a drug test. English’s view was challenged by media and opposition parties. However, there was no media criticism or questioning of Little’s claim despite obvious questions like, when was the last time the long-time union man and Wellington bureaucrat ever saw a farmer, let alone spoke to one?
